【摘要】:Thepurposeofthistestmethodistodeterminethedegreetowhichacementmortardevelopsearlystiffening.Itisintendedforusebythoseinterestedinmethodsfordeterminingthepotentialearlystiffeningofhydrauliccement.Whenusedforestimatingtherelativetendencyofacementtomanifestearlystiffening,ajudgmentmaybemadebycomparingthebehaviorinthepenetrationseries(see10.4.1and10.4.2)andtheremixprocedure(see10.4.3)todifferentiatearelativelylessseriousandlesspersistenttendencytoearlystiffening(falseset)fromonethatismorepersistentand,consequently,moreserious(flashset).Severefalsesettinginacementmaycausedifficultyfromaplacingandhandlingstandpoint,butitisnotlikelytocausedifficultieswhereconcreteismixedforalongertimethanusual,asusuallyoccursintransitmixing,orwhereitisremixedpriortoplacingortransporting,inconcretepumpingoperations.Itismostlikelynoticedwhereconcreteismixedforashortperiodoftimeinstationarymixersandtransportedtotheformsinnon-agitatingequipment,asonsomepavingjobs,andwhenconcreteismadeinanon-sitebatchplant.Cementswithseverefalsesettingusuallyrequireslightlymoremixingwatertoproducethesameconsistency,whichmayresultinslightlylowerstrengthsandincreaseddryingshrinkage.Earlystiffeningresultingfromfalsesetisnotlikelytocauseacementtofailtheapplicabletimeofsettingrequirement.Earlystiffeningresultingfromflashset,dependingonseverity,cancauseacementtofailtheapplicabletimeofsettingrequirement.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofearlystiffeninginhydraulic-cementmortar.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoinch-poundunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(Warningx2014;Freshhydrauliccementitiousmixturesarecausticandmaycausechemicalburnstoskinandtissueuponprolongedexposure.Theuseofgloves,protectiveclothing,andeyeprotectionisrecommended.Washcontactareawithcopiousamountsofwateraftercontact.Washeyesforaminimumof15min.Avoidexposureofthebodytoclothingsaturatedwiththeliquidphaseoftheunhardenedmaterial.Removecontaminatedclothingimmediatelyafterexposure.)1.4Thetextofthisstandardreferencesnotesandfootnoteswhichprovideexplanatorymaterial.Thesenotesandfootnotes(excludingthoseintablesandfigures)shallnotbeconsideredasrequirementsofthestandard.
